The WPRB Membership Drive is still going great guns. My show on last Wednesday was a huge success thanks to your assistance, raising lots of money for the station’s operating costs.

If you missed out on pledging and want to become a member and support the station, visit http://pledge.wprb.com.

This Monday night from 7:00 pm ET – 10:00 pm ET I’ll be in the WPRB studios joining Art Andrews and Julia Factorial on the Membership Drive edition of Clean Yr Room, my favorite show.

There are also two special live guests, debuting exclusive sessions recorded just for the Membership Drive:

Matador recording artist Kurt Vile and all the way from Oregon, Pierced Arrows (ex-Dead Moon).

This is going to rule! Don’t miss it.

Yrs,

Jon

Caterpillar joins the overcrowded Membership Drive show.

Two weeks ago we announced a completely bonkers lineup of live guests for the start of the 2009 WPRB Membership Drive on Wednesday, October 7th.

Well, in addition to exclusive, never-before-heard live sessions by Jennifer O’Connor, Obits, Screaming Females, The Spinto Band and Danielson that will air between 7:00 pm ET and 12:00 am ET…

…I am happy to reveal a performance by beloved/reunited Philadelphia rock band Caterpillar will be part of the show!

Jennifer O’Connor plays covers for pledges!

Remember the awesome person above these words? Her name is Jennifer O’Connor and she is an ace lady, fierce Scrabble rival and a top-notch musician who has released great albums on Matador and Kiam.

For the third straight year, Jennifer will be taking the train down to WPRB on Wednesday, October 7th to play live on-air during the 2009 WPRB Membership Drive. My five hour “opening ceremonies” show will air from 7:00 pm ET – 12:00 am ET.

Like in 2008 and 2007, she would be happy to try and play a slew of covers in exchange for listener pledges during this special program.

However, Jennifer needs some advance warning to try and learn these songs!

So…

If you pledge $103.30 at pledge.wprb.com, you’ll not only get some great WPRB premiums, but you also can ask Jennifer to play a song for you. Make sure you contact me about what cover you would like to hear.

Jennifer will be joined in studio by Obits, Screaming Females, The Spinto Band and Danielson among others.

Mark your calendar for England Belongs To Twee.

On Saturday, October 3rd I will be the “Special Guest” at England Belongs To Twee in Philadelphia. I hope you will come out and dance to the records I play. Ack. What records should I play?!
