103.3 fm WPRB\u2019s 2016 Membership Drive gets underway later this week and I am WORRIED<\/strong>.<\/p>\n My lone show<\/strong> of this year\u2019s week-long drive will be on Wednesday, October 19 from 7:00 pm \u2013 10:00 pm ET<\/strong>, at the end of the drive *and* at the same time as\u00a0the third Presidential Debate. We\u2019re up against it,\u00a0but\u00a0we\u2019ve only got one shot at this. More than in any prior year I\u2019m going to need your help to hit my goal of 100 unique pledges<\/strong> during that three hour window.<\/p>\n Mark your calendars now and set an alarm to pledge the evening of 10\/19. WPRB can\u2019t remain \u201ccommunity supported independent radio\u201d without assistance from the community.<\/p>\n This is the one week of year that WPRB calls upon its listeners to show financial support to keep the station independent, innovative, commercial-free and competitive in a crowded digital world.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s help WPRB endure as a strong, interesting, curious place at the forefront of the airwaves with a tremendous Membership Drive!<\/p>\n If you\u2019ve given in years past, I am sure I can count on you again.<\/p>\n I\u2019d especially love to hear from those of you who haven\u2019t pledged previously and get you to join the WPRB family for the first time.<\/p>\n Old DJs! Friends! Long-time listeners! Current DJs! Internet pals! Folks who just discovered all WPRB has to offer! Family! People who only tune in on Christmas! Those who have never pledged before! Punks! Mods! Rockers!<\/p>\n I need to hear from ALL of you!<\/p>\n This year\u2019s show will be fast-paced fun, as co-host Julia Factorial (who cross-stitched the above image) and I mix 45s from deep in WPRB\u2019s library with selections pulled from Ice Station Solomon. An all-star collection of WPRB DJs will be manning the phones to take your pledges.<\/p>\n I\u2019ll have ridiculous prize packages to give away each hour for those who contribute $45 or more. You\u2019ll get solid odds to walk away with a box of records from the likes of Sub Pop<\/a>, Don Giovanni<\/a>, Castle Face<\/a>, 12XU<\/a>, Northern Spy<\/a> and other labels you hear frequently on the station during my show, not to mention a pair of tickets to see Shellac in Philadelphia *and* a copy of their latest album \u201cDude Incredible\u201d signed by band members Steve Albini, Bob Weston and Todd Trainer.<\/strong><\/p>\n That\u2019s on top of the incredible WPRB-branded stickers, shirts, scarves, hoodies and other \u201cthank you\u201d gifts available starting at a $15 donation level.<\/p>\n
