{"id":3431,"date":"2018-11-01T13:00:29","date_gmt":"2018-11-01T17:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepingscoreathome.com\/?p=3431"},"modified":"2018-11-01T13:55:23","modified_gmt":"2018-11-01T17:55:23","slug":"jon-solomons-2018-holiday-radio-show-30-years-30-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/keepingscoreathome.com\/?p=3431","title":{"rendered":"Jon Solomon&#8217;s 2018 Holiday Radio Show. 30 years, 30 hours."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.keepingscoreathome.com\/images\/solomonseltzerxmascan.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jon Solomon\u2019s 2018 Holiday Radio Show. <\/p>\n<p>30 years, 30 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2018 edition of my Holiday Radio Show on WPRB will be a special <b>30 hour marathon<\/b> celebrating 30 years of Christmas programs.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the three part plan:<\/p>\n<p>-From 3-5 pm ET on Christmas Eve, a unique mix will debut on 103.3 fm.<\/p>\n<p>-That shall lead into the traditional live 25-hour broadcast beginning at 5:00 pm ET. <\/p>\n<p>-When I do my scheduled sign-off at 6:00 pm ET on Christmas, a second festive \u201cpostgame show\u201d mix will air &#8211; this lasting until 9:00 pm ET &#8211; though the option exists to scrap that and keep going if I\u2019m up for it.<\/p>\n<p>This is the best solution I could come up with to properly honor an important broadcasting anniversary and also stay alive. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t plan on doing a >25-hour marathon again. <\/p>\n<p>Image by the incomparable Kate R. of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/seltzerflavors\/\" target=\"_New\">Seltzer Flavors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additional promotional show art \/ graphics \/ keys to cities welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>Press folks, don&#8217;t hesitate to get in touch.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.keepingscoreathome.com\/images\/2016-12-LG-Jon-Solomon-3.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, let\u2019s talk Christmas Stories!<\/p>\n<p>Each of the last seven years I have asked a number of friends, musicians, comedians and others that I admired to record their definition of an original &#8220;Christmas story&#8221; to be interspersed throughout my marathon, alongside Snaildartha: The Story of Jerry the Christmas Snail, The all-Misfits-inspired sets, Ramones-o-Clock, Lindstrom&#8217;s &#8220;Little Drummer Boy,&#8221; The all-Fall Christmas set, Joel Phelps&#8217; myriad pieces and other annual favorites. <\/p>\n<p>This addition has brought a new level of excitement to the program and made the tradition all the more special. <\/p>\n<p>For year 30, I\u2019m counting on everyone to top themselves.
