103.3 fm WPRB’s 2016 Membership Drive gets underway later this week and I am WORRIED.

My lone show of this year’s week-long drive will be on Wednesday, October 19 from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm ET, at the end of the drive *and* at the same time as the third Presidential Debate. We’re up against it, but we’ve only got one shot at this. More than in any prior year I’m going to need your help to hit my goal of 100 unique pledges during that three hour window.

Mark your calendars now and set an alarm to pledge the evening of 10/19. WPRB can’t remain “community supported independent radio” without assistance from the community.

This is the one week of year that WPRB calls upon its listeners to show financial support to keep the station independent, innovative, commercial-free and competitive in a crowded digital world.

Let’s help WPRB endure as a strong, interesting, curious place at the forefront of the airwaves with a tremendous Membership Drive!

If you’ve given in years past, I am sure I can count on you again.

I’d especially love to hear from those of you who haven’t pledged previously and get you to join the WPRB family for the first time.

This year’s show will be fast-paced fun, as co-host Julia Factorial (who cross-stitched the above image) and I mix 45s from deep in WPRB’s library with selections pulled from Ice Station Solomon. An all-star collection of WPRB DJs will be manning the phones to take your pledges.

I’ll have ridiculous prize packages to give away each hour for those who contribute $45 or more. You’ll get solid odds to walk away with a box of records from the likes of Sub Pop, Don Giovanni, Castle Face, 12XU, Northern Spy and other labels you hear frequently on the station during my show, not to mention a pair of tickets to see Shellac in Philadelphia *and* a copy of their latest album “Dude Incredible” signed by band members Steve Albini, Bob Weston and Todd Trainer.

That’s on top of the incredible WPRB-branded stickers, shirts, scarves, hoodies and other “thank you” gifts available starting at a $15 donation level.
