Don’t miss Clean Yr Room tonight!

cleanyrroom

The 2012 WPRB Membership Drive is underway! This is the one week a year where we raise money for the station’s day-to-day operations. The drive runs from now through October 14th.

I will be doing my annual co-hosting Clean Yr Room with Art & Julia tonight from 7:00 pm ET-9:00 pm ET as part of said drive. It is going to be a lot of fun. One of my favorite evenings annually.

This is big: For the first time the station has set a public fundraising goal ($40,000) and it is my hope that between CYR and my program we can raise AT LEAST $5,000. With your much-appreciated contributions we can hit that mark, if not exceed it!

Please show your support of challenging, exciting and creative radio – especially tonight and this coming Wednesday night.

There are “thank you” items starting at the $15 pledge level and both CYR and my program have some UNREAL SHOW-SPECIFIC THANK YOUS to offer on top of that swag. You know what to do. You know when to do it. X MAKE IT HAPPEN X.

If you appreciate the incredible freeform programming that WPRB currently provides and has provided free of charge for decades, this is the time to give back.

If you respect the work that WPRB’s volunteer staff puts in to create challenging, exciting and creative radio, this is the time to give back.

All pledges are tax-deductable, you can donate via check or credit card.

To phone in your support: 609.258.1033

To pledge on-line: http://pledge.wprb.com

To listen: http://listen.wprb.com

Make sure to give tonight between 7-9 pm ET and/or Wednesday between 7-10 pm ET.

Every bit helps.

I’ll be back tomorrow with details and an epic theme for my drive show.

Thank you in advance,

Jon

Join me Sunday for The Soundtrack Series!

I’ve never done a “reading” before, but I’ll be taking part in the Soundtrack Series this Sunday at 8:00 pm ET in Philadelphia at L’etage (624 South 6th Street).

Each guest will be telling a story built around a specific song and my portion is an uplifting tale of woe involving Naked Raygun’s “Home Of The Brave.”

It would great if you could come out. RSVP on Facebook.

Incentive: There will be visual aids.

Ok, fess up. Who did this?

Finding myself pictured as part of a meme on the front of Reddit for a spell was a plenty strange way to kick off my 5773.

Silver lining: An image of me went “viral” and my shirt was on in it. For that I thank you, Internet.

Mission Of Burma interview this Wednesday!

Listen to 103.3 fm WPRB on Wednesday, September 12th at 8:00 pm ET as I’ll present an interview with Fire recording artist and long-time favorite Mission Of Burma.

I caught the four members of Burma – Roger Miller, Clint Conley, Peter Prescott and Bob Weston – in their dressing room at Union Transfer last week prior to a scorching, career-spanning set.

We discussed the history of the group, 2002’s reformation and the band’s excellent new album “Unsound.” I hope you’ll find it an enjoyable listen.
